Music @ Glebe-St. James

Make a joyful noise!

Music plays an integral part of worship and life at Glebe-St. James.
Not only does music serve to enhance worship services, it is also one of the ways we express our faithfulness to the church, to the community, and to each other.

The Choir

Glebe-St. James is blessed with a wonderful choir that leads the music during most Sunday worship services. The choir is a non-auditioned ensemble and members come from all walks of life and from a wide range of ages. We explore a wide variety of repertoire, from the Renaissance through to modern composers.  Weekly choir rehearsals take place on Thursday evenings 7:30-9:00PM.

In addition to its musical leadership and offerings, choir members can also be found in various other areas of church life: from hosting coffee hour after church, to flipping pancakes for the annual Shrove Tuesday supper. It has been said that there is also much enjoyment at our monthly post-rehearsal social time!

If you are interested in joining the musical life and leadership of the church or if you're looking for the listening experience in a warm and welcoming environment, please be in touch with our Minister of Music, James Caswell ([email protected]). We want to meet you!

GET INVOLVED
There are many opportunities to get "musically" involved at Glebe-St. James - we are always pleased to welcome new singers to the choir, and there is a wonderful appreciation for instrumentalists looking to share their talents either during the worship service or as part of our Concert Series.

If you are interested in taking part in the musical life of Glebe-St. James in any way, please contact the Minister of Music, James Caswell ([email protected]).
