Sixth Sunday of Easter - May 10 2026. Please join us!

May 8, 2026

And it is also Mother's Day!  Thank you to all mothers and to those who practice mothering! Join us today in person or on-line starting at 10:30.

Here's what you can expect at Glebe St-James on this May 10 Sunday:

  • The music for gathering this morning includes a piano piece, "Meditation on a Folk Song," arranged by Joseph M. Martin, and an organ piece, "Reflection," by Douglas E. Wagner, inspired by Psalm 72:3: "The mountains shall bring peace to the people."
  • Kayla Cseh, our Children's Church Minister, will welcome us.
  • Wendy Bergeron will acknowledge that the land on which we gather and work is the traditional and ancestral territory of the Algonquin People, unceded and unsurrendered.
  • Donna-Fay Mailhot will read the scripture, John 14:15-21.
  • Rev. Dr. Teresa Burnett-Cole will lead us in worship.
  • Robert Palmai will speak about about and celebrate the Steinway grand piano in our sanctuary. A dedication plaque was recently added to commemorate the gift of the instrument to the congregation. The piano originally belonged to Robert Palmai's mother. The plaque inscription is found in this morning's PowerPoint slides.
  • Julia Barry and Robert Palmai will provide the Gift of Music: 'Safe in your Arms' by Mark Hayes.
  • The organ-piano duet, with Paul Grose and Robert Palmai, used for the postlude is an arrangement by Mark Hayes and Marvin Gaspard of the hymn tune LASST UNS ERFREUEN. This tune is one of Paul's favourites, found in VU#217, with words by St. Francis of Assisi from 1225 and a tune that first appeared without attribution in a 1623 Jesuit hymnbook from Cologne, Germany.

Here is the bulletin for the service which allows you to follow along with the words of texts, hymns, songs, and prayers. You can stream the service live at 10:30 am on YouTube.
