November 28 Update - GSJ on a learning journey towards Reconciliation
News from the Glebe St James ReconciliAction Working Group
We are all on the road to truth, and through truth, to reconciliation, together.

ReconciliAction in Action – How Can You Help?
As you know from last week’s e-update, the Women’s Intergenerational Group (WIG) is initiating a project that will supply baby items to new Moms in Nunavut through the organization Northern Beginnings / One Plane Away. The opportunity to support Nunavut moms and babies in need by supplying baby clothing and essential supplies will also
open our eyes to some of the challenges facing young families in the North due to lack of access or prohibitive costs.
How Can You Help?
- By donating new or gently worn winter-weight baby clothing (indoor and outdoor wear) and blankets (6-month to size 2 only). Handmade items are treasured by the mothers; and/or
- By contributing money to cover shipping costs. Our immediate fundraising goal is to raise $400 that would be used to buy large pre-paid shipping boxes. Buying in bulk (12 large boxes for $400) will afford significant cost savings and will allow us to continue the project beyond the Christmas period.
- Once we have reached our shipping target, additional funds will be given to One Plane Away so that they can purchase bulky or heavy items such as diapers and formula through their organization’s Amazon account which offers them free shipping.
Donated items can be brought to the church on December 10th for Giving Sunday or dropped off with Laura Tanner ([email protected]) or Marisa Romano ([email protected]).
Contributions of money will also be gratefully accepted by cheque or e-transfer to Glebe-St. James United Church. Please specify that you would like the funds directed to the "WIG project - Northern Beginnings / One Plane Away".
