Second Sunday in Advent - December 7, 2025
We would be pleased if you could join us on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. either in person or online for this service.

It’s the second week of Advent, the beginning of the church year, that big wheel of time that every year turns us from the waiting of Advent to the joy of Christmas, to the waiting of Lent to the joy of Easter, to the waiting of Eastertide to the joy of Pentecost, to the joy of life in ordinary time and back again. This Sunday, we welcome special musical guests Stephen Brooks (clarinet) and Liz Elton (flute) with James Caswell (piano) for the Prelude and Postlude.
Here's what you can expect at Glebe St-James this Sunday:
- Rev. Dr. Teresa Burnett-Cole will lead the service.
- Liz Elton will welcome us.
- Pam Fitch will acknowledge that the land on which we gather and work is the traditional and ancestral territory of the Algonquin People, unceded and unsurrendered.
- Together we will enter into Advent 2 and light the second candle, the candle of Peace.
- George LeDrew will read the scripture from Matthew 11:1-11.
- Our Minister of Music, James Caswell, and the choir will lead us in music and song; the Gift of Music will be "Jesus, Emmanuel" with Words: Philip Dorridge and Music: K. Lee Scott and "Thou shalt know him" by Mark Sirett.
Here is the bulletin for the service to follow along with the words of texts, hymns, songs, and prayers. You can join the service live at 10:25 am on YouTube; after the service ends, it will be available to watch as a recording.
