Minister of Christian Development and Pastoral Care

Ottawa, ON

Glebe-St.James United Church is seeking a dynamic  and creative ordained, diaconal or designated lay minister to join our ministry team in a half-time position as Minister of Christian Development and Pastoral Care.  We believe that our thriving congregation will benefit from a theologically trained leader to complement the work of our coordinating minister and the staff team.

Things that are key to us:

  • being a welcoming and accessible community,
  • living out a faith committed to social justice,
  • inspirational learning and sharing a thought-provoking and music-rich worship.

The successful candidate will have the skills needed to use technology for virtual programming and service content and be comfortable working with an Affirming congregation which is committed to celebrating and learning from the Algonquin people, acknowledging it is their traditional unceded lands on which we live and worship. They will create or support opportunities for children, youth, families and adults allowing growth in Christian faith and relationship building within our church community, and provide pastoral care for the congregation. The
coordinating minister will continue to provide individual pastoral care for more confidential, acute and crisis situations.

Note for potential candidates:  If  you are in the process of getting your candidacy profile on Church Hub approved, then please let us know that you intend to apply for the position prior to the deadline for application (June 17) and indicate that your Church Hub profile is still pending.
