Today, we remember that history.
We remember Survivors.
We remember the children who never returned home.
We remember families and communities who continue to live with the consequences.
Here's what you can expect at Glebe St-James on this Sunday, September 27:
- Pam Fitch will welcome us.
- David Brown will acknowledge that the land on which we gather and work is the traditional and ancestral territory of the Algonquin People, unceded and unsurrendered.
- Liz Elton will read the scripture, Matthew 19:13-15.
- Rev. Dr. Teresa Burnett-Cole will lead us in worship and will offer a reflection, "Every Child Matters."
- Music Director Paul Grose and the choir will lead us in music and song. The Gift of Music will be "Song of Life" by Sandy Scofield.
♪ This week's organ prelude, "Jesus, The Very Thought Of Thee," is based on the traditional hymn tune ST. AGNES by John Dykes. The setting is by Eleanor Whitsett (1931-2026), an organist and university professor from Oklahoma, U.S.A.
♪ The organ postlude, "Paean," is by Christopher Tambling (1964-2015), a British composer, organist and school choirmaster.
