June 6, 2026

Join us this Sunday, in person or online, as we contemplate whether our table is big enough?

Here's what you can expect at Glebe St-James on this June 7 Sunday (the second Sunday after Pentecost):

  • Marsha Hay-Snyder will welcome us.
  • Wendy Bergeron will acknowledge that the land on which we gather and work is the traditional and ancestral territory of the Algonquin People, unceded and unsurrendered.
  • Ruth Burnett-Cole will read the scripture, Matthew 9:9-13, 18-26
  • Rev. Dr. Teresa Burnett-Cole will lead us in worship and will offer a reflection "A Table Big Enough"
  • Paul Grose and the choir will lead us in music and song. The Gift of Music will be "The Prayer with Lead Us, Lord" arr: Tom Fettke

♪ Today's choir anthem is a medley of the pop-classical fusion hit "The Prayer" by Canadian songwriter David Foster and the 1861 hymn "Lead Me, Lord" by Samuel Sebastian Wesley.

Today's organ prelude and postlude are both settings by Douglas E. Wagner of contemporary hymns. "Make Me a Channel of Your Peace" was published in 1967 by South Africa-born UK-based composer and BBC broadcaster Sebastian Temple with lyrics historically attributed to Saint Francis of Assisi (but first appearing anonymously in the French magazine La Clochette in 1912).

"Sing a New Song" was published in 1972 by American hymn writer Dan Schutte and appears in Catholic, Anglican, Lutheran, and Methodist hymn books.

Here is the bulletin for the service which allows you to follow along with the words of texts, hymns, songs, and prayers. You can stream the service live at 10:30 am on YouTube.
