Worldwide Communion Sunday - October 4 2026 - Please join us at 10:30
You are most welcome to join us in person or online starting at 10:30 as we celebrate communion with the global Christian community

Here's what you can expect at Glebe St-James on this Sunday, October 4th:
- There will be communion - if you wish to participate while online, please prepare some bread/cracker and a beverage so you can participate with us.
- Ruth Burnett-Cole will welcome us.
- Pam Fitch will acknowledge that the land on which we gather and work is the traditional and ancestral territory of the Algonquin People, unceded and unsurrendered.
- Geoff McGuire will read the scripture, Matthew 14:13-21.
- Rev. Dr. Teresa Burnett-Cole will lead us in worship and will offer a reflection, "Worldwide Communion Sunday and the Feast of St. Francis".
- Music Director Paul Grose and the choir will lead us in music and song. The Gift of Music will be "For the Beauty of the Earth" by Folliott Sandford Pierpoint.
This week’s prelude, “Malvern Revisited.” Is by Colin Hand (1929-2015), a British composer, church musician, and early music researcher. Malvern is in Worcestershire, England.
The postlude, “Love Divine, All Loves Excelling,” is an energetic arrangement by Joel Raney of the traditional hymn tune BEECHER.
Communion: In commemoration of worldwide communion, the instruments providing prayerful focus during communion are the Tibetan singing bowl and the Mahayana Buddhist wooden fish.
Here is the bulletin for the service which allows you to follow along with the words of texts, hymns, songs, and prayers. You can stream the service live at 10:30 am on YouTube. The announcements are also available here.
