Join us for the Fifth Sunday of Easter, May 18th at 10:30am

May 18, 2025

Please join us either in person or on-line at 10:30am for the Fifth Sunday of Easter.

Rev. Dr. Teresa Burnett-Cole is on her sabbatical leave until September.

This Fifth Sunday of Easter service will be lead by the Rev. Dr. Steve Moore of Rideau Park United Church. Wendy Bergeron will welcome us, and Pam Fitch will offer the land acknowledgement. Rev. Sue Toller will give the Theme Conversation for children and adults. Barbara Coyle will read the scriptures: John 20: 15-16, 27-28; John 21: 4-7a; and Luke 24: 28-33a.

Our Minister of Music, James Caswell and the choir will lead us in music and song; the anthem will be "Draw Us in the Spirit's Tether" by Harold W. Friedell.

Today, we will encounter the risen Christ through the eyes of those who first saw Him — Mary, Thomas, the disciples, and the travelers to Emmaus — and reflect on how He meets us in our doubt, sorrow, and everyday moments. Come experience how Jesus reveals Himself in personal and powerful ways that open hearts and change lives.

Here is the bulletin for the service to follow along with the words of texts, hymns, songs and prayers. You can join the service live at 10:25 am at this YouTube link; after the service ends it will be available to watch as a recording.

One of the great spiritual questions is this: What do we see when we look at other people? Do we see strangers or neighbours? Problems or possibilities? Labels or beloved children of God? The answer matters, because what we see shapes how we live.
