February 20, 2026

Glebe St James welcomes you in person or online as we celebrate the first Sunday in Lent starting at 10:30 am at 650 Lyon St. South

Here's what you can expect at Glebe St-James this Sunday:

  • Rev. Dr. Teresa Burnett-Cole will lead the service.
  • We will celebrate communion in this service so if you are watching from home, prepare a cracker and some red beverage and celebrate with us!
  • Pam Fitch will welcome us.
  • David Brown will acknowledge that the land on which we gather and work is the traditional and ancestral territory of the Algonquin People, unceded and unsurrendered.
  • Liz Elton will read the scripture from John 2:1-11.
  • Our Minister of Music, Paul Grose, and the choir will lead us in music and song; the Gift of Music will be "Gather us In" with Liz Elton (flute).

Today’s Instrumental Music

♪ "Juliet's Waltz" was composed in 2025 by Grant Horsley (b. 1959), a UK-based composer, ballet accompanist, teacher and classical/jazz/rock performer. The song is named after Juliet from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.

♪ "My Song Is Love Unknown" is an arrangement by Dale Wood (1934-2003), California-based composer, teacher and editor, of the traditional Welsh hymn tune "Rhosymedre," written by Rev. J. D. Edwards in 1840.

♪ Today's communion-themed anthem, 'Gather us in' is a 1982 hymn by Minneapolis-based Marty Haugen, an influential hymn writer who has worked in the Lutheran, Roman Catholic, and United Church of Christ denominations.
