February 8th, 2026 - February is Black History month!

February 6, 2026

This is the fifth Sunday after Epiphany - please join us in person or online as we gather to converse, to listen, to sing and to ponder salt and light. Our service starts at 10:30.

Here's what you can expect at Glebe St-James this Sunday:

  • Rev. Dr. Teresa Burnett-Cole will lead the service.
  • Maya Li Evans will welcome us.
  • Teresa Burnett-Cole will acknowledge that the land on which we gather and work is the traditional and ancestral territory of the Algonquin People, unceded and unsurrendered.
  • Ruth Burnett-Cole will read the scripture from Matthew 5:13-20.
  • Our Minister of Music, Paul Grose, and the choir will lead us in music and song; the Gift of Music will be "Lord, I Stretch My Hands to You” by Jay Althouse.
  • In the prelude, Paul will play: Blessed Jesus, We Are Here - Liebster Jesu, Wir Sind Hier (III), BWV 706. A chorale prelude by Johann Sebastian Bach (1865-1750). This registration highlights the organ's Baroque flute stops.
  • Be Still and Know - Hymn prelude by Andrew Moore (b. 1954), English composer and Catholic priest. This arrangement makes use of the organ's orchestral sounds.
  • In the postlude, Paul will play: The Bishop's Fanfare - Christopher Tambling (1964 - 2015), British composer, organist and choirmaster. This registration highlights the organ's powerful reed stops including the Bombarde 16' in the pedals.

Here is the bulletin for the service to follow along with the words of texts, hymns, songs, and prayers. You can join the service live at 10:30 am on YouTube; after the service ends, it will be available to watch as a recording.
