The Parable of the Farmer & the Seeds

Sunday, July 12, 2020 Worship @ GSJ

Sunday, July 12th, 10am: We welcome back licensed lay worship leader Chris Burbridge and a small team of worship leaders to lead us in this, our second live-streamed summer worship service!

Once again, while the church building itself remains closed, we invite you to join us virtually (links below). Tune in right at 10am to join the service live; alternately you will be able to see the fully recorded video after the service has concluded.

We are pleased to once again extend a special welcome to members of our sister churches St. Giles Presbyterian, Fourth Avenue Baptist and Southminster United Church who join with us in an annual tradition of summer ecumenical sharing!

As this is the last week that Glebe-St. James will be hosting summer worship, please check out the details for joining in shared future summer services with our partner congregations in the weeks ahead.

Have a question or a comment? Did something in the service make you think, or would you just like to say hello? Leave us a comment below (just keep scrolling down!), or over on the facebook link where you watch the video. We'd love to hear from you.

Live stream: Though now concluded, you can watch a recorded version of the facebook livestream here! You don't need a facebook login to view.

Bulletin: Follow along with readings, hymns, prayers and the reflection in the bulletin.

Announcements: Double check on any of announcements slides here

Donating at a Distance: To make an "at a distance" donation to Glebe-St. James (to the operating fund, to outreach, to M&S, etc.) or specifically our ongoing COVID-19 outreach fund, you have several options: the web donation button, by mail, by setting up PAR (pre-authorized remittance) or by using the mail-slot on the 650 Lyon Street South entrance door. In each case, you can specify where you would like the funds to be directed! See more on our "How can I Help?" page.

Mission & Service: Check out this week's minute for mission "Community Ministries Make a Difference!"

The term “partnership” can describe a wide range of relationships undertaken by the church. The work of the church is accomplished through working with others—some full ministries of the church, including community-based organizations, as well as through relationships with organizations and coalitions we know as national partners. Mission & Service supports partnerships with community ministries across Canada.

In addition to congregations, the church includes ministries such as camps, campus ministries, and community and social justice ministries that support people seeking basic needs such as food, clothing, shelter, advocacy services, and spiritual guidance. There are over 60 community ministries.

Through partner relationships, the church engages in advocacy and justice, research and policy, education and theological reflection, congregational engagement for justice-making, and community support.

If Mission & Service giving is already a regular part of your life, thank you so much! If you have not given, please join me in making Mission & Service giving a regular part of your life of faith. Loving our neighbour is at the heart of our Mission & Service.
