Vigil to Honour and Remember Indigenous Children - Canada Day

June 27, 2021

Live-streamed from Glebe-St. James @ 11am on July 1, 2021

On Canada Day, join the community of Glebe-St. James United Church (Ottawa, Ontario) at 11am for a Virtual Vigil in honour of the 1,143 children found and to remember the more than 4,100 children identified as missing by their friends, families, and communities. Like many, we felt the need for some sober reflection this Canada Day and invite like-minded people to join us.

Click on the blue button below to join the vigil live-streamed on the Glebe-St. James YouTube channel at 11am on July 1st. A recorded version will remain available after the vigil is finished by scrolling down to the video player at the bottom of this page.

The photographs scrolling below are of living memorials inside and outside of Glebe-St. James at Lyon and First in the Glebe: 140 orange shirts (one for each residential school in Canada) wait to stand in remembrance as more children are found.
