Join us! Celebrate Transfiguration Sunday with GSJ, February 11th, 2024

Welcome to February and Transfiguration Sunday, the final Sunday following Epiphany, and before Lent (yes, Lent is around the corner!). All three of the synoptic gospels (Matthew, Mark and Luke) tell a story of Peter, James, and John accompanying Jesus to the top of a holy mountain. There, before their eyes, Jesus is transfigured or transformed into a dazzling brightness.

Rev. Dr. Teresa Burnett Cole will preside, Liz Elton will read the scriptures (2 Kings 2:1-12 and Mark 9:2-9) and Susan Toller will offer the land acknowledgment and the theme conversation. The choir will sing "Shine on Us" (Victoria Schwarz) as the Gift of Music.
